Summer day camp was last week. Always a great time of year. There is something about teaching children about Jesus that makes me feel very much alive. Here is what we learned:
Day 1: Jesus is our friend
Day 2: Jesus is our life
Day 3: Jesus in our leader
Day 4: Jesus is our savior
Day 5: Jesus is our helper.
Along with learning about Jesus, the children played games, sang songs, developed friendships, made crafts, rode bikes, played in the water, and played sports. Anna and Ryan had a great time. We all have memories that will last until next July, when we'll do it all over again (Lord willing).
On another note, it has been so hot. By far the hottest since we moved to San Pedro in 2002. It was so hot, that we prayed for rain (at Ryan's request). After a busy day yesterday, the kids were sooo tired and ready for bed. About 10 minutes after they finally got to bed, a thunderstorm moved through! It's only their second experience with lightning and thunder, so needless to say, they were too scared to sleep. I think that Ryan was less than enthused that God really did answer his prayer!
