Mammoth 2008

We just returned from our annual trip to Mammoth Mountain. Overall, we had a great trip. Sara really enjoyed putting her hands in the dirt, picking up small rocks, walking around in the different textures, and playing with all the different RV wheels. Anna's favorite part was horseback riding and fishing, and Ryan's favorite part was mountain biking and seeing the bears. My favorite part was mountain biking and taking pictures, and dad's favorite part was hanging out at the peak of the mountain. Anna was keeping a journal for a Brownie Scouts activity and following are her entries:

Day 1:We went fishing and saw two bears: a mother bear and her cub. The cub was really close and was going to come up to us, but then it's mom called it away. We did not catch any fish. We also took a nap.

Day 2:We hung out at camp and went to the base of the mountain. At night, we had a camp fire and roasted marshmallows.

Day 3:We went horseback riding. My horses name was Tank and mom's was named Lucy. My legs felt wobbly after I got off. Mom was really scared on the horse when we went down the rocky trail. It was really fun. That evening, we went fishing but did not catch anything.

Day 4: We went mountain biking-once with dad and once with mom. I fell off once and got the wind knocked out of me. Ryan rode really fast! Mom was so excited to go biking (even though she should have been in bed because she was sick). Sara got to go biking too!

Day 5:We went swimming at the RV site while dad packed up. We had to come home early because mom was sick.
