Hand Clinic

Today we took Sara to another clinic. It was our first time going to this particular hand clinic, and we found the visit to be worthwhile. There was a team of about 6 doctors of different specialties (plastic surgery, ortho, neurology, etc.), 2 or 3 nurses, and 2 nurse assistants. The doctors were speaking quickly, bouncing ideas off of one another, while one of them took notes on the computer. It was a whirlwind of info, but not much that we hadn't heard before. Several new things came from the clinic: Sara will be prescribed an adaptive feeding device, she will be referred to see about a spring-loaded brace to help with elbow flexion, since she has very good passive flexion in her elbow, and another possibility is a muscle transfer surgery using one of the muscles in her thigh. We will definitely be praying about the possibilities and would appreciate prayer about surgical options.

Other than that, all is routine. Anna and Ryan will be out of school about a month and we are SO looking forward to a trip to San Diego at the end of the month! It's been quite a while since we've been, I think since Christmas break.
