Dear Friends and Family,
Another year brings another letter; I can’t believe Christmas is already here! The months have zipped away though we’ve tried to enjoy the moments as they pass. We’ve had a great year filled with lots of joy and fun in the midst of the craziness that a family of 5 brings. Highlights of the year include our summer RV trip to the Northwest where we visited Whistler and Vancouver Canada , Washington , Oregon , and the Northern coast of California-
Anna has had a big year this year and she recently said, “Mom, things feel a little different this year…I feel like I’m growing up.” She recently celebrated her 10th birthday! We pulled off a surprise party for which was tons of fun. She loves ballet and recently performed in the San Pedro City Ballet’s Nutcracker as an angel. She also started playing the flute in October, which quickly becoming a passion of hers.
Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, everybody loves Ryan. He continues to grow and develop his own sense of who he is (apart from his big sister), and he can almost always be spotted with a smile on his face. He really started to enjoy skateboarding over the summer (he got his first skateboard during our trip to WA). He loves mountain biking and riding his scooter too. Sometimes I see him scootering inside the house when it’s rainy outside! We can’t get him off of his wheeled toys. He is fulfilling the middle-child-with-two-sisters role very well-he’s an expert at pushing their buttons!
Likewise, Sara May fulfills her baby-of-the-family role very well, and she is starting to learn hard things about life, like she doesn’t get what she wants all the time! She has been attending “school” two afternoons per week along with occupational therapy to help her use her arms. Sara is becoming incredibly adaptive at using the tiny bit of arm and hand strength that she has; she also is using her feet and toes to do many things like push buttons and color with markers. Sara loves to sing and dance and ballet dancing in the living room is a daily occurrence in our house for her and Anna!
Rich and I continue to strive to be the best partners and parents that we can be, and we’re enjoying the ride along the way! We hope and pray that the coming year is filled with health, protection, and joy and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with contentment and thanksgiving!
