The best summer day

For weeks, months, years even, Anna has begged asked me to take her horseback riding.  I took her to a few western riding lessons when she was younger, hoping that it would satisfy her, 

thinking that it was a horsey phase that she was going through.  

Apparently not.  

Anna was interested in English riding and since there were stables relatively close by, we gave it a shot.  After having to reschedule twice, Anna was finally able to have her day!  She spent most of the first lesson learning how to groom and prep the horse for riding.  

After the horse was ready, Anna climbed on the giant and then she and the trainer headed for the field.  

Anna was very relaxed and comfortable on the horse (well, except for her allergies).  She enjoyed the introduction to the "English" way of riding a horse.  Her actual time on the horse was short this time.  The goal is that she will be able to groom and prep the horse independently and then spend the entire lesson on the horse.  

 Anna absolutely LOVED her time at the stables.   In fact, she loved it so much that we may be hanging up her ballet shoes so she can ride instead.  

 Today was by far Anna's best day of summer.
