Springtime in the canyon

Before we moved to LA, fall was always my favorite season.  In Southern California, the seasons are not terribly distinct.  There are plenty of warm days in the winter and it can be quite chilly in the summer at times.  However, in spring, the landscapes come alive.  Everything blooms and blossoms from March-June.  We have been taking regular hikes/bike rides in canyon by our house this spring and this year we even hunted for easter eggs up there.  The trails can be quite slick and Ryan took a pretty bad tumble shortly after we got there, so Rich had to walk him back home.  That was a huge bummer, he missed the entire hike and egg hunt.  Here are some sweet photos of the girls and me.  Ryan and I will need to make another trip up there as soon as his knee heals!

The photos were taken with Nikon D300s, 24-70 mm, f2.8 lens.  Top photo was taken at ISO 200, 70 mm, f 2.8, shutter speed 1/400.  During this photo session fun family outing I was particularly interested in capturing and experimenting with the glare of the sun.  The photos were shot in RAW and processed in Lightroom.
