Sara's first 6 months

Sara is already 6 months old. While I have not been terribly diligent about writing every single tiny milestone down on the actual date that it occured, I have a very good idea of how far she has come since birth. Sara is sitting up very well now. She began to sit on her own at about 5 months. She can easily roll over both ways and has just begun to babble, i.e., "nanananana"-so cute! When she was born, she was unable to move her upper extremities (except a very weak arm extension). She now is able to move her shoulders up and down, front to back. If I am holding her hand, she pulls her hand away using her shoulder and trunk. Her arm extension is quite strong and she has a weak flexion in her wrist, perhaps even in her elbow. Her fingers on her right hand move regularly, though they are not grasping yet, and her fingers on her left hand are beginning to move a little more recently. She can move her arms in toward her if they are out, this is noted mainly when she takes a bath and she is laying down in shallow water.

Sara's favorite things are mom and dad, oatmeal with bananas, water (especially drinking water out of a cup), and warm baths. She also LOVES to watch Anna and Ryan play, especially when they are being rough and loud with each other-she finds it fascinating. Many people are praying for continued strength and movement in her arms, and the Lord has been faithful in his answer to prayer. Thank you Lord.
