One of the things the kids were looking forward to was being able to go in the river. We got to Zion during the middle (and hottest part) of the day. After we pitched our tent and got a bit organized, it was much to hot to do anything else except to go find some nice cool water and jump in. Thankfully, the river was a short walk from our campsite. The kids had a blast! They had never been swimming in fresh water before and they loved playing in the current! The river was not too deep so Sara could touch the bottom almost everywhere...although, she didn't care—she would float down stream a bit and give Anna (my risk-averse child) a heart attack as she ran to get Sara and bring her back...so funny to watch! A lovely afternoon at the river indeed!
